Syringa vulgaris (Common lilac)

Fully hardy deciduous trees and shrubs which will grow well in any fertile, well-drained soils, especially chalky ones. They perform best in full sun. The richly scented flowers appear above the mid-green heart-shaped foliage in May and June.
