Prunus virginiana "Schubert"

Deciduous. Tends to develop into a roughly conical tree. The young foliage emerges green but turns reddish-purple then a shiny, very deep, blackish-red as it matures. Small pinkish-white single flowers are followed by dark-red fruits which can be used for culinary purposes.
