The flowering habit of this tree is given away by its name. The small semi-double flowers will make an early appearance from pink buds in November. Subject to weather conditions, flowering will then occur intermittently through to March when the main flush occurs. When open the flowers of 'Autumnalis' are pale pink, almost white, whilst those of 'Autumnalis Rosea' are a definite pale pink. The mid-green foliage turns orange-yellow in the autumn before falling.
