Platanus x hispanica (London plane)

This is a truly majestic, fully hardy deciduous tree which is often used to grace parkland settings or line wide streets. It develops a broad roundish crown and the grey-brown bark peels to reveal creamy-white patches giving a pretty mottled effect. The large glossy green 3-5 lobed leaves sometimes turn yellow before falling.
