Pittosporum tobira

Quite different from Pittosporum tenuifolium, this slow-growing species with its shiny, leathery/fleshy, dark-green leaves can make an outstanding contribution to a shrubbery or large mixed border. The cream-yellow flowers, which have an appealing hint-of-orange aroma, are borne April-July. It is tolerant of saltiness and urban pollution.
