Olea europaea (Olive)

This lovely, frost-hardy evergreen tree is so familiar throughout the Mediterranean regions. It is an ideal subject for a sunny courtyard garden or where the protection of a south or west facing wall can be offered. It prefers deep, fertile, well-drained soil. Alternatively, it can also be grown as a glasshouse or cool conservatory subject. The narrow, grey-green leaves have silvery undersides and small, fragrant white flowers appear in summer. Outdoors, the fruits will only fully develop and ripen in ideal conditions. Gnarled-look specimen trees are also available and we would be pleased to quote for your requirements.
