Morus platanifolia (Fruitless mulberry)

A lovely tree for shade as it develops a wide-spreading head and can also be trained with a flat-topped, parasol-style crown. The large, glossy, palmate leaves are dark-green. M.Bombycis will usually produce fruit but most will abort and fall while they are still green. Those which survive will ripen to a reddish-black. The 'Fruitless'/'Steryle' form will not form fruit
