Magnolia soulangeana

These magnificent, hardy deciduous trees and shrubs will do best in a cool, well-drained, soil. The plants need shelter from the coldest winds and must not be placed in frost pockets. 
These magnolias produce large cup ro tulip-shaped flowers, and all mainly flower before the mid-green leaves open but some produce a second, less showy crop in summer. They can deal with sunny or partially shaded positions in deep, fertile, soil which stays moist but is nevertheless permeable and they generally prefer it to be lime free. We usually have a selection of plants in different sizes so please check with us before ordering.
