Liquidambar styraciflua "Silver King"

A distinctive deciduous species which are tolerant of full sun or partial shade and are best planted in sheltered positions not subject to frost pocket conditions and in deep, moist, but well-drained loamy soil. The leaves are bright green, margined cream turning to a long-lasting rich pink-red in the autumn before falling. Also of interest is the corky bark which develops deep fissures as it matures.
