Ligustrum lucidum (Chinese privet)

This evergreen species is hardy in all but the coldest districts and would benefit from being placed in a sunny sheltered position protected from cold north and east winds. It has large, mid-green lilac-like leaves and the sprays of small white flowers appear in late summer. Makes a good screening plant and as a tree develops a round crown.
