Forsythia x intermedia "Weekend"

Sometimes referred to as golden bell bush this fully hardy deciduous tree or shrub is a favourite harbinger of spring. Masses of golden yellow flowers appear in late winter before fresh green foliage emerges. It will grow well in most soil types and especially those of a chalky nature. 'Week-end' was developed in France and flowers later than the traditional varieties.
