This fully hardy deciduous species will do best in a sunny, open position and in any soil which is not too heavy or wet. There are a number of different forms ie. Feathered trees (branched from the ground), standard trees, weeping or fastigiate varieties. In addition to being used as a choice specimen tree for the larger garden, beech makes a good tall-growing hedge. If trimmed to shape in late summer, most types will often hold their browned leaves until spring. We can supply this as ready pleached trees, bare root & root balled hedging as well as natural trees. We would be pleased to quote for your specific requirements for hedging plants.
