These outstanding evergreens are grown for their decorative bark and attractive foliage, which is usually aromatic. They vary in their growth habit and hardiness and the less hardy species are possible contenders for the larger cool conservatory or glasshouse. In the garden they should be placed in full sun away from the coldest winds and in fertile soil which is neither too dry nor prone to water-logging. We may not always have all the following species in stock but can usually supply to special order.
