Cercis silaquastrum (Judas tree)

This is a tree of legend. Flowering usually takes place before the glaucous green leaves emerge. If you choose a position it is happy with, you will be rewarded with a generous display of rose-purple flowers on the previous years' growth and even on the trunk!
