Cercis canadensis "Forest Pansy"

This is the most demure of the two species we offer and as the name implies tolerates part-shade. It is grown principally for the lovely deep reddish-purple foliage which looks especially attractive with light shining through it. It is not known for its' enthusiastic flowering but if you are lucky the magenta flowers will appear in late spring/early summer.
