Catalpa bignonioides "Aurea"

This neat hardy deciduous tree tends to develop a round head. It will do well in ordinary garden soil and in a sunny, sheltered position. Fragrant, white yellow and purple marked foxglove-like flowers appear in late summer and are followed by the long slender seed pods which inspire the name. 
This variant has leaves which are bright yellow in spring, becoming paler later and it develops a globular-shaped head.
